A California man was recently arrested for his alleged involvement in a number of crimes said to have been carried out over the last month. According to police, this individual is being held on suspicion of robbery and is also facing a drug charge. Such crimes carry significant penalties if a conviction is ultimately obtained by the prosecution.
According to a recent report, a 37-year-old male was arrested by police in Escondido on Sept. 15. Authorities claim this individual was involved in at least six armed robberies that recently occurred in the area. It is unclear what led police to this individual, but he was taken into custody without incident. A 31-year-old woman that was found in his company was also arrested.
The accused is being held in county jail. His bail has been set at just over $600,000. His arraignment is scheduled for Sept. 18. The female who was arrested with him was cited for heroin possession and released.
In accordance with California laws, the robbery and drug charges filed against the accused could have life-altering consequences should a conviction result. Fully investigating the allegations made against him, which involves questioning any evidence in the hands of prosecutors, will only be part of a strategic criminal defense. This individual, alongside counsel, can focus on seeking the best possible outcome for his specific situation, which may be achieved in a number of ways. For example, he can choose to fight the criminal charges in hopes of being granted a case dismissal, or he can seek to negotiate with the prosecution to reach a plea agreement in exchange for favorable considerations at sentencing. With assistance, this individual can choose the legal direction that will best serve and protect his future interests.
