A California man is currently being held by authorities on a number of charges. According to a recent report, this individual allegedly stole a car and ran from police. This incident has resulted in charges of car theft and reckless driving. The accused was also wanted on an unrelated robbery charge.
A 36-year-old male was detained by authorities after they say he led them on a wild chase through the Fresno area. Police claim this individual was in a stolen vehicle, prompting officers to attempt a traffic stop. The accused supposedly failed to comply and drove away in the vehicle, allegedly reaching speeds of up to 100 mph. After stopping the car, authorities claim this individual tried to flee on foot, but he was eventually caught at an apartment complex and arrested.
There was a passenger in the vehicle at the time of this alleged incident. As of the most recent report, this individual has not been arrested. At this time, it is unknown if any court dates have been scheduled regarding this matter. The charges against the accused are said to be felonies.
In California, the accusations of theft, reckless driving and robbery are all quite severe, as are the potential consequences. As such, the accused would likely benefit from the services offered by an experienced criminal defense attorney. Fighting felony charges like those filed in this case will be challenging, but this certainly does not mean that there is no hope for the accused. With counsel by his side, this individual can seek out the best legal approach for his situation -- one that will strive to achieve the best possible outcome.
