A 26-year-old man in California was recently taken into custody by police after being accused of locking a female teenager in his garage. As of the latest report, this individual is currently being detained by authorities. He is facing charges for allegedly committing sex crimes against a minor.
According to police, the parents of a teenage girl reported her missing when she failed to return home from a trip to the grocery store. Investigators were able to gain access to the young woman's phone records, wherein they found the contact information of the accused. Shortly after obtaining this information authorities were given permission to search the home of this young man by his parents, to whom the home belongs. Police claim to have found the teenager locked in the garage.
The accused was immediately arrested and has been charged with committing sex acts against a minor. His bail has been set at $100,000. It is unknown if any court dates regarding this matter have been scheduled.
Sex crimes, particularly those involving minors, are considered extremely serious offenses in California. Fighting accusations like those in this case may not be an easy task, but that does not mean the situation is hopeless. Even though this gentleman has a previous criminal record, it will be important to focus on the matter at hand, and thoroughly review and question any evidence that may be supplied by authorities. The use of a strategic defense can result in a resolution that protects the rights and current and future interests of the accused.
