Drug crime cases, weapons charges and accusations of theft

Several people were recently arrested just before Valentine's Day in San Diego. A parole and probation compliance operation conducted in East County led to the arrests. Drug crime cases, weapons charges and accusations of theft are all in question in this latest bust.

A total of two agencies -- the San Diego Sheriff's Department and the Metropolitan Transit System -- worked together to patrol high crime areas with the sole purpose of ensuring those released on parole or those on probation were sticking to the terms of their release. During this operation, a total of 32 people were arrested. The violations netted against them include drug-related crimes, weapons charges and possession of stolen property.

According to police, officers supposedly seized a total of 49 grams of illegal drugs. They also reportedly found large sums of cash, a stolen utility trailer, gold bars, other stolen property and firearms. The items confiscated in this investigation are believed be tied to open criminal cases in the area.

Each of the individuals arrested during this compliance operation in San Diego do have the right to a criminal defense on their behalf. While fighting drug crime cases, weapons charges and/or accusations of theft can be difficult -- particularly for those with a record of past criminal behavior -- it does not mean all hope is lost. Depending on the specifics of each individual case, a number of defense strategies may be available to resolve the accusations of criminal activity in a manner that keeps the best interest of those accused front and center.
