3 adults and 1 minor arrested, each facing a weapons charge

Several individuals in Central California were recently arrested and are facing a number of charges. Few details were provided about the circumstances surrounding the arrests, but each individual is facing a weapons charge regarding the incident. The potential penalties associated with such charges include jail and/or prison time and fines -- all of which can have detrimental effects on their futures.

A total of four men, three adults in their early 20s and a 16-year-old, were arrested after police described the vehicle they were in as suspicious. The reason for suspicion was not shared with the public. Upon investigation, it was reportedly discovered that each of these individuals has a past criminal record involving gang activity and weapons charges.

Officers arrested each of these gentlemen after claiming to see a firearm on the floor of the vehicle. Each individual is facing a weapons charge for the incident. Two of the four are also charged with parole violations. It is unknown if these young men are currently being held by police or if they have been released on bail. Court dates for each of the accused have not been reported.

A weapons charge can carry stiff penalties in California. Each of the accused has the right to employ a criminal defense on his behalf. Part of a successful defense will include questioning the arresting officers' intent and determining if probable cause was present before the search of the vehicle occurred.  Thoroughly investigating this matter may provide information that could assist each of the accused in fighting the charges in court.
