California woman charged with sex crimes involving a minor

A California woman is facing a tough legal situation following accusations that she had a sexual relationship with a minor. The sex crimes for which she is accused could lead to a number of serious consequences -- if a conviction is ultimately secured. While this woman denies any wrongdoing, a strategic criminal defense may be of benefit in her case.

According to a recent report, a 38-year-old woman was arrested after a tip received by police prompted an investigation into her involvement with a 16-year-old boy. The investigation supposedly included tracking this woman's daily activities for several weeks. The young man in question is believed to be the ex-boyfriend of the accused's daughter. Police claim the alleged relationship lasted approximately three months.

The charges against this woman include sexual relations with a minor, a couple of counts of oral copulation and attempts to deter a witness. The woman has pleaded not guilty to all charges, and she was released from jail after posting bail. Her case is scheduled to go to court in early February.

Cases involving minor children can be challenging to navigate. It is unknown what, if any, evidence has been offered against the accused, but it will be important to closely and carefully review any such evidence to ensure the rights of everyone involved in this case are protected. Sex crimes against minors are not taken lightly in the state of California and fighting these accusations may be a long, uphill battle. However, several defense strategies may be considered for this woman's case.
